 I used to have panic attacks, and so difficulty breathing does trigger that sensation which brings an onset of severe anxiety. I also wear glasses (standard and sunglasses are prescription), and the moment I put a mask on it completely fogs up, and added to the whole not being able to breathe thing, it gets pretty overwhelming pretty quickly. I'm exactly the same with the anxiety and heat, with the added layer of autism making the mask almost unbearable to wear. Still wear it in crowded places because I'm not a dick and have close family members who are in the risk group. I'll just go to a secluded area to take a break when it becomes too much of an issue. They are saying that the heat combined with the mask, and recirculating hot breath air, gives the feeling of being unable to breathe. We exhale heat, it's one of our body's ways of keeping us cool. When it's hot, it is definitely "hard to breathe" in the mask because I'm breathing hot air right back into my lungs.
