Theaters are still where they make the most bank, and the major theater chains won't agree to screen a major film that is also available digitally.  It's a tradition in Hindu weddings called Joota Chupai or Hide the Groom's shoes.  We were generally just short staffed and where I worked paid for and was licensed to do training and hands on classes so every day was also extremely long.  My wife and kids are happy. It's tough with distancing, but everyone is happy and healthy. So that makes me happy. My girlfriend has always wanted a labradoodle and I’m finally able to make it work.  For the last week we've been making food supplies and gear lists and planning each leg of the trip. I've gone so far to find fishing reports on the lakes we will be on.  Heading on vacation in a couple weeks! It's a pretty remote place in the mountains where we will still be socially-distanced and not around anyone, but it will just be nice to see somewhere other than the inside of my house. A month ago I thought my dog was going to die. She was in a lot of pain and had trouble getting up by herself. But we changed her meds, and she's getting laser treatment for arthritis in her back knees. Now she can get up by herself, and I can tell she's not in pain because she's so playful again. I am so happy about this. I finally started writing a story I always wanted to write. My unemployment benefits were finally approved a few days ago after pending for almost 4 months. I was furloughed because of covid and returned back to work for an entire month before they were finally approved. So many things! I spent about 3 years in constant pain and assuming I'd never get an answer because my doctor gave me the same run around constantly. Changed clinics for an unrelated reason and my new GP took an X-ray said I had an impingement but not enough that should cause pain but would recommend me a specialist, all in a single visit. Long story short I was having surgery to correct the issue in less than 6 months. The new clinic did what my old one couldn't in a fraction of the time. Takes a lot of luck but hopefully you'll eventually find a doctor who can get you your answer! Oh god I love those moments. Idk why but an easy way to make me like someone even more is if we stay up late just hanging out and talking to each other till we can barely stay awake.  I have a support job and if people call in with shit I don't know then I simply tell them I don't know but I'll find out. Apparently I'm one of like 3 people on the company willing to admit that.Having been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in the past, the best doctors visit I ever had was the one where a doctor finally sat down with me and just let me ask question after question til the response was "we don't know why that's the case. I literally had a broken spine, but because I was 16 or so the response was “Oh, take some ibuprofen for the pain. Too many of you youngsters are getting hopped up on pain meds. “Finally found a different doctor that acknowledged that my injuries were real and very painful. The minute he said “Oh my dear, you’re so strong, you must be hurting so bad.” I broke down in tears.  I went to a job interview earlier this week and I heard back from them today. I got the job! I'm slowly but surely getting over my ex. Before long, I think I'll be ready to get back on the dating scene. Would like to add, as a doctor in training, it’s maybe equally scary how little we know. We’ll often see patients and just don’t know what’s wrong. Not defending doctors that don’t listen to their patients and fully explore pain because I know physicians like that exist and are unfortunately very common. As a patient with chronic pain, I'm much happier hearing "I don't know, but we'll keep trying to figure it out" or some variation of that than a passive aggressive version of suck it up, or you are faking it. I can appreciate any doctor who is willing to say they don't know, a lot of us understand you can't possibly know everything.  I put one of those critter cams on my feeders. Great to see all the blue jays and cardinals visiting them throughout the day. Then I saw the rats visiting them at night. This morning my wife picked him up to do some mowing and weeding. When he was done she asked if his mom's car was running, to which he replied they hadn't even tried to start it. My wife asked if i would take him home and take a look at the car. I did so, and it was just a matter of low radiator fluid, but that mom had been afraid to mess something up. I filled the radiator and overflow tank, had them start the car, and hung out till the car warmed to operating temp. No biggie, but they were both so thrilled to have it running again, and be able to drive for groceries, it still has me happy hours later. And for giving their son some work. Dead By Daylight kinda shows what the asymmetrical multiplayer could have been, but I think the sci-fi/Kaiju/horror thing could have been an absolute legend of a game if they didn't bungle the rest of it. It will be "repopulated" for a week until people realize the Dark Zone sucks (even Massive realized this and almost completely reworked it for the sequel) and stop playing. The solo campaign is laughably bad and ends on a cliffhanger that Massive just abandoned and all the fun gameplay is in the DLC expansions.  I don't know if I'd just call it aging, but I played the same kinds of games for years in just new iterations and the last few I've totally moved on to different things.  The best way to wash fruits and veggies is to wash them in water. Not all produce has the same outer cell characteristics, for instance raspberries are much more delicate than a pineapple. Produce that comes pre-washed and packaged has been washed in a way that removes the vast majority of anything you should not eat. Follow the package instruction which might sometimes recommend washing or rinsing prior to consuming. This is particularly important for things like leafy green salads that are eaten raw. Always wash fruits like apples, pears, grapes, nectarines, etc. that have a thin outer skin.  Just got back from the grocery store in ruralish Indiana. There was only one other person in the store with a mask and gloves on, everyone else was running around with nothing, even the workers, even saw some entire families there. Looked just like business as usual which I found alarming. When I brought the stuff home we sprayed all the boxes with isopropyl just to be safe.  Yeah I feel they only showed games that release int he next few months and likely won't be changed, or they showed a few things with 2020 listed. I am sure they will have some large games they hope are able to come out in the fall holiday season, but no reason to show those now when there is so much uncertainty.  Well I'm the most biased person who could possibly answer you, as to this day I will die with it still in my top 5 games of all time, not just racing games, I mean games period.I would say, especially if you're playing the very excellent PC version (GOG has a Windows 10 compatible version for pretty cheap!), it holds up AMAZINGLY well. To this day, even though it's a low-poly early 3D type game, the art design, including the incredibly smart decision to stretch out textures of levels to simulate motion blur, results in a game that feels at times faster than an F-Zero game, but it's still tight to control, and is just mechanically satisfying, with a really interesting progression loop in the main singleplayer that rewards mastery of levels and skill in pod control. I will only get this if it has dual stick controls like it did on N64.
